We are de-hacked!

We are de-hacked!

We’ve been out of commission for the last ten days. You may have noticed. One of our lovely interviewees brought it to our attention that our site had some serious malware attached to it, which, as a new site, is not something we wanted to hear.

As editor, I couldn’t let anyone keep updating the site with that hanging over my head. We immediately put a stop on all log-ins — I have gone as far as changing all users passwords — and waited until my host provider were able to confirm that this happened.

DreamHost is quite literally a dream to work with. If you’re looking for hosting, I can not recommend them highly enough. They were able to give me an in-depth analysis of what they had done and what I needed to do to clean it up.

I am still in the process of deleting themes and plug-ins our site doesn’t use, but now, we should be back running as per usual.

We want to assure you that we are as dedicated as ever to providing you with an online writing festival that you curate and participate in.

  1. Glad the site is alive again!

I second your comments re: Drreamhost. They are a great host ad a great price, and their support is prettyy good – they were extremely apologetic the one time they accidentally broke my site, LOL.
